NJCSD/NJFA Use Of Force Class & Member Event

This custom all-day event is cosponsored by the New Jersey Firearms Academy and the NJCSD to provide necessary training, and bring our members together. The all-day event will consist of:

• UoF Class (Noon to 3PM)
• Lunch served during class (sandwiches, salads, fruit)
• Practical Shooting Competition (Optional; 3:30 - 5:30)
• Contests & Prizes (5:50 - 6PM)
• Optional Dancing & Music or MOVIE (drinks at bar optional)

The NJFA Use Of Force class is one that every New Jersey citizen - especially gun owners - should take. The three hour certificate programprovides "must-have" training for anyone who means to use any kind of self defense method or weapon whether hand-to-hand such as martial arts, or a firearm. This course covers the various practical and legal ramifications of a defensive act, covering aspects such as:

• Continuum of force (legal definitions)
• Escalation signs & body language
• De-escalation and evasion techniques
• Lethal and Non-Lethal defenses
• Legal repercussions and how to protect yourself from prosecution
• Personal risks (psychological and physiological responses)

PLEASE REGISTER YOUR SPOUSE ALSO! It's important for everyone in your household, especially if your spouse owns or has access to firearms, to understand the gravity of what can happen in the aftermath of a defensive encounter.

There are very practical benefits to this program. If knowledge is power, knowing how to avoid prosecution is important in New Jersey. Also, this certificate program may provide an attorney with an additional tool for your defense, and may well compel a prosecutor or jury to be more sympathetic to your case.

During the class, a lite luncheon will be served to maximize the time used. Menu will be assorted sandwiches and salads, fruit, and other lite snacks.

Post-Class entertainment
Depending on member feedback, we have the option of paying to have a cash bar staffed by the facility (at additional expense), and we can either watch a movie or hire a DJ with music and dancing.
