Bloomberg has officially renounced his GOP membership today which of course increases speculation that he is gearing up for a third party run for the presidency.  One of his core platforms is obviously going to be gun control with how hard he has been working with his club of anti-gun mayors.  The question is, how will the democrats respond?  Is he going to be the Ross Perot of the democratic party?

[UPDATE]  It should also be noted that Bloomberg traveled out west yesterday to speak before the deep pockets at Google.  The topic of his speach?  What else.  Gun control.
