The Glover Tape PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 28 July 2006

The JPFO brings to you the story of John Glover.  Glover was the innocent gun owner that the BATFE tried to frame through fraud, deceit, and perjury.  The truth only came out and conviction was evaded only because a video was released showing the BATFE testing a semi-auto gun that was supposedly converted to full auto.  Check out the story to appreciate how that agency pursues law abiding gun owners with a vengeance.

400 Year Old Pistol Found at Jamestown, VA PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 28 July 2006
One of the oldest known historical artifacts of the first Europeans to come to North America has been found in a well in Jamestown, Virginia. It is a brass flintlock pistol though to be of Scottish origin that has been perfectly preserved.  They say the brass shines like gold.  I happen to be spending the next week in the Jamestown area but it will be some time before this rare piece is on display.  The experts say this was most likely a civilian owned weapon.  It is like looking back through history and seeing the birth of the American tradition of civilian firearm ownership and the Second Amendment.  Take that Bellesiles.

Abuse of Power PDF Print E-mail

The Cato Institute has a map detailing botched S.W.A.T. raids over the past 2 decades.  These are incidents where the police often needlessly used para-military force to conduct no-knock raids that were conducted on innocent suspects and ones that ended in tragedy.  Last year alone in New Jersey, S.W.A.T. teams with the wrong addresses raided four innocent families--luckily, none ended in tragedy.

Fear of Little Black Knives PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 26 July 2006
Last year, doctors in the Medical British Journal urged a banning of sharp pointy knives.  We all scoffed at this as proposing an assault knives ban.  However, the idea has now crossed the pond and this week, the Wall Street Journal is trying to raise awareness of the dangers of "deadly pocketknives " aka "tactical" knives.  Don't be surprised when you start seeing legislation to ban knives that can be open single handedly, like my urban shark.
