The Facts About New Jersey's Tax Climate PDF Print E-mail
Written by Robert Rose

The denial of our Second Amendment human rights isn't the only reason to pine for far off lands and other states.  New Jersey is a mess economically as well.  We've all heard about the hundreds of new taxes and spending hikes Corzine rammed through, the multi-billion budget deficit that was temporary propped up only by virtual of the by the tobacco settlement cash which is now all gone, the growth of state employment rolls, and the 17% increase in sales tax that they tried to dupe us with by selling it as a 1% increase.  But just how rate vs. other states?  Just how much of a mess is New Jersey in...relatively speaking?

Well, the Tax Foundation has that very data and it is worse than expected.  I could quote all of the depressing details but I'd just end up plagiarizing the whole article.  I'll just link to it instead.  I really find me asking myself why am I paying so much to live in a state that sees fit to deny me my rights?

The previous article, "Good Federal Gun Bills" is dated Saturday, January 27 when I wrote it but due  to an error of my own, it wasn't published for public read until today, the 30th.

So don't skip over it thinking it is outdated.

Yesterday, I covered four anti-gun bills currently in the house (this morning I added one I found in the Senate). Today, some good gun bills that need your and your congressman's support:

1) H.R. 266, "To amend title 18, United States Code, to provide a national standard in accordance with which nonresidents of a State may carry concealed firearms in the State."

S. 388 is the matching bill in the Senate according to the NRA , but I can't find the text for it yet.

British Gun Woes PDF Print E-mail
Written by Robert Rose
Friday, 26 January 2007

Despite their strict gun control and licensing system, the British Isles are being overwhelmed with rising gun crime.

The Home Office crime statistics report reveals that in the past year, England and Wales have experienced a:

  • 9% increase in armed robbery in the street
  • 10% increase in robberies at gunpoint
  • 46% increase in increase in robberies in the home at gunpoint
  • 100% increase in armed robberies in the home
  • 100% increase in killings by strangers since Labor came to power
  • 500% increase in robberies in the home at gunpoint since Labor came to power

The opposition Shadow Home Secretary, Captain Obvious is quoted as saying:

This shows Labour is losing control of gun crime across the board, whether it be on the street or in innocent people’s homes.

Predictably, the blame is being placed on porous borders and guns coming into the country.  They need to take their analysis one step further and realize that criminals can always get guns even when completely banned.

Obviously, their little experiment with gun control has failed.  Abysmally.

Now that the Democrats have taken control of both houses of the US Congress they are showing us their true blue colors and get on to the real meat of their agenda.

We already have four severe anti-gun bills that have been introduced as the JPFO is reporting.

1) H.R. 96, "The Gun Show Loophole Closing Act of 2007" would kill all gun shows as we know them. Alan Korwin comments:
