NJ Senate has been called for Menendez.  I haven't seen the breakdown yet.

PA has been called for Casey and VA is reportedly in a dead heat.

[UPDATE] The Bergen Record is calling the race for Menendez with no vote count or mention of precincts reporting.  CNN is reporting only 17% of precincts reporting and Kean leading.  Wishful thinking?

[UPDATE] With 29% reporting, Menendez is leading 52%-46%.  NJN News is calling for Menendez.  NJ has demonstrated for once and all that ethics and character do not matter as long as you are a democrat.

[UPDATE] NJ Congressional results thus far indicate no incumbents look to be in danger of losing.  NJ-13 (Menendez's old seat) is leaning 85% in favor of Democrat Sires with 12% reporting.  No surprise for Hudson County.

Mad Mike is at it Again PDF Print E-mail

Mayor Mike Bloomberg has launched the newest battle in his jihad against legal guns and legal gun owners.  At least this time, instead of lashing out at other states, he is looking inward at New York City.  The newest target of his wrath is NYC CCW holders.  In the battle on gun violence, gang violence, and illegal guns he has decided to lash out once again at legal gun owners who have made zero contribution to the crime problem.  The only persons who are going to be purged from the NYC CCW rolls are those determined to be not rich enough or not famous enough to deserve a CCW.  The test will be nothing more than economic and social bigotry.

In other regional news, PA gubernatorial candidate Lynn Swann is taking a strong and principled stand on the Second Amendment

Have you voted yet?  If not, be sure to go out and do your civic duty.  Here in New Jersey, we are relegated to the most part to voting for the candidate who is less anti-gun than the other candidate.  Having said that, I am lucky enough to have a congressman who is a staunch defender of the Second Amendment, Scott Garrett.  Here is some more information about the various NJ congressional races.

Dave Kopel has a run down of every major race nationally and what it means for the Second Amendment for the next two years.

[UPDATE] I just learned that the democrat favorite to win in the Massachusetts gubernatorial race, Devan Patrick, was the prosecutor at the department of justice who decided not to prosecute Lon Horiuchi for gunning down Vicki Weaver as she stood unarmed, babe in arms.  I am surprised more hasn't been said of this.

Volunteer to Patrol the US Border PDF Print E-mail
Written by Robert Rose

No longer do you have to get time off and fly down to Texas to join the other volunteer citizens patrolling and observing the US border.  Thanks to the state of Texas, you can do it from the comfort of your own home.

The State of Texas has started installing web cams along the border with Mexico that you can log into via the Texas Border Watch test web page.  The page is still in its infancy and there are not many features or functions or even cameras.  As the name implies, it is a test site.  It is now up and operating though.  They have eight cameras available so far and a button to report suspicious activity.  I don't see any indication of where the cameras are located along the border.  For OpSec it is probably better that they remain a secret.  I am having trouble getting the video feed but that could be firewall isues.

The border patrol and the current administration have not had a good track record responding to incident reports made by citizen volunteers.  Since it is a state project, hopefully the Texas Rangers or some other local force will be fielding reports and responding to them.
