Shaun is the founder of ICarry.org, a civil rights organization that shares the same goals as the NJCSD, was arrested for and convicted of political speech in support of the Second Amendment.  Apparently, in Chicagoland they don't think that the First Amendment applies if you are using it to make statements in support of the Second Amendment.  Essentially, he was arrested for wearing a t-shirt with his organizations web address, ICarry.org, as well as wearing an empty fanny pack.  You can read the full story of Shaun's arrest here and here.

Shaun has now launched a lawsuit against his alma mater for false arrest and violating his civil rights as a public institution.  This case very clearly points out the need for the First Amendment.  Without it, the powers that be will seek to suppress and punish political speech they don't agree with.  Shaun wasn't even making that radical of a statement.  He was showing support for the US constitution.
