I have long observed that with strict anti-gun and anti-self defense laws in the UK, the criminals are in charge and know it. Case in point: A 64 year old 5'1" grandmother was confronted by a gang of thugs and taunted. After being dared to, she hit the one in the gut who then threw her to the ground and broke her arm. She was then arrested for assaulting a child.
The moral of the story of creating an anti-gun, anti self-defense state: she added: "This sends out the message that if you stand up for yourself, if you try to take action to stop anti-social behaviour, you are likely to end up being arrested." This punk is only going to be emboldened now that he knows the law (and his mummy) will go to bat for him against innocent citizens he victimizes. This is not an isolated incident either. From the same article: In May, grandmother Brenda Robinson, 66, of Bournemouth, spent a night in a police cell after being arrested for alleged assault when she gave a rowdy youth a "clip round the ear". She acted after being abused, pushed and threatened with a plank of wood. Link via Arms and the Law |
