The Wall Street Journal is today speculating that the NJ democrats might be preparing to pull another Torricelli maneuver. They give a good summary of the details of the case and the history of the "New Jersey Switcheroo." They also summarize the political climate for the rest of us in this state:
Nowhere in the country do party leaders so cavalierly disenfranchise
their primary voters when they fear their nominee is going to lose. For
the New Jersey GOP, it's like trying to win at poker when your opponent
can call for a redeal every time he doesn't like his cards.
Indeed.
