Jersey City is trying to pass a new ordinance to correct technical defects in the one a month purchase limitation they passed earlier this summer.  The new ordinance would reportedly criminalize people for purchasing or even applying to purchase more than one handgun in a 30-day period.  The measure will be debated October 11 at 6:00 pm at Jersey City Hall, 280 Grove Street, Jersey City, New Jersey 07302.  Here is the contact information for the various members of the Jersey City Council.  

Regarding the title, the reason why this law is illegal is that it violates state pre-emption.
