No longer do you have to get time off and fly down to Texas to join the
other volunteer citizens patrolling and observing the US border. Thanks
to the state of Texas, you can do it from the comfort of your own home.
The State of Texas has started installing web cams along the border
with Mexico that you can log into via the Texas Border Watch test web page.
The page is still in its infancy and there are not many features or functions
or even cameras. As the name implies, it is a test site. It is now up and operating though. They have eight
cameras available so far and a button to report suspicious activity. I don't see any indication of where the cameras are located along the border. For OpSec it is probably better that they remain a secret. I am having trouble getting the video feed but that could be firewall isues.
The border
patrol and the current administration have not had a good track record
responding to incident reports made by citizen volunteers. Since it is a
state project, hopefully the Texas Rangers or some other local force will be
fielding reports and responding to them.
