H.R. 297 is a new "compromise" bill in the house. Expect gun control with nothing in return for gun owners whenever you hear "compromise" especially when the compromise is with the queen of gun control--Caroline Mccarthy. The compromise is a billion dollar expansion of the NICS data base to include every imaginable piece of private data. People fear loss of privacy through electronic medical records or IRS data bases. If the anti-gun biggots get their way, the NICS data base will be the biggest and most comprehensive collection of personal information in the country.
Who supports this compromise? The NRA? They told Newsweek they back the legislation. Their web page on H.R. 297 simply redirects to a general statement of support for improvements to the NICS system. The GOA, JFPO, SAF? No, no, and no.
