We've all seen it. We've fallen victim to it. We've even been guilty of it on occasion. You know what I mean. Stuff that makes you wonder where they're dishing out the big bowls of stupid for breakfast every morning.

Now, some stupidity has an immediate consequence - for instance, the "hold my beer and watch this" kind of stupidity. That kind of stupidity generally removes itself from the gene pool in relatively short order, and come the holidays we all can sit down at the table with loved ones and give profound thanks to the powers that be in the universe for their blessings.

There is other stupidity, however, that goes unpunished - for instance, the "elderly Iraqi woman holding two brand-new-out-of-the-ammo-box cartridges claiming they were fired at her home AND a news agency that finds the photograph of the offense compelling enough to feature in their news photo montage so that the world can be informed of the cold calculated heinousness of America" kind of stupidity.

Unpunished. That just in so many ways goes against the laws of nature, doesn't it?
