This is probably the best TV ad I've seen in a long time. Former gubenatorial candidate Steve Lonegan weighs in on yet more big government spending that will just translate to yet more corruption, cronyism and higher taxes. With this kind of "snake oil" being sold to the taxpayers of New Jersey, it's no wonder our state is drowning in debt.
The argument has been made in times past that investing in research can lead to cures, but the reality is that if YOU personally believe that certain medical research should be done, then go take your own damned money, buy stock in the pharmaceutical companies who are conducting that research and take your own chances. Never, ever, do you have the right to spend My money on what YOU want and compel me to pay for it by force of edict conducted by a thug called a "legislator" because you flipped a switch in a voting booth while hiding behind a curtain. I'd prefer those who believe in this philiosophy of tax-and-spend would have enough courage to mug me in person, rather than picking my pocket in this most cowardly of fashions. |
