Jersey City Passes Illegal Gun Law PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 30 June 2006

The Jersey City Council has successfully passed one of the gun restrictions they have been trying to ram through this month.  They have passed a 1 a month purchase restriction on handgun purchases.  Ordinance # 06-082 violates NJ state preemption that doesn't allow any local governments to pass their own gun laws.  One a month purchase has become a new rallying cry of the gun grabbers as the popularity of their holy war on "assault weapons" has waned to nothing.

The UN Makes it Clear They Are After Our Guns PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 30 June 2006

Kim du Toit is reporting on the UN Small Arms Conference planned for July 4 in New York City.  Gun grabbers and UN apologists have been saying the UN is trying to protect the innocent in African nations ravaged by an endless cycle of war.  Kim knows otherwise.  I don't know if there are any protests planned for Manhattan on that day but they picked a damn inconvenient one for most red-blooded Americans.

[UPDATE] Cam Edwards is reporting that the gun ban conference is being held behind closed doors.

Back to Blogging PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 30 June 2006
I'm sorry that blogging has been slow.  I've been on the road for 2 weeks straight.  It would have been a grand tour of the USA but unfortunately, I've seen little other than the insides of airplanes, airports, and hotels.

Congress To Consider 4 Gun Bills As Soon As Wednesday PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 19 June 2006

HR 5092 will prevent the BATFE from revoking FFL's licenses without showing willful infringement.

HR 5005 contains 7 pro gun initiatives

HR 1415 enhances the NICS system

HR 1384 removes some restrictions on interstate commerce in firearms.  For examples, it would allow you to purchase handguns in states other than your own.

For more information on these bills, please see the NSSF.  Please, please, please contact your congressman and tell him you support these issues.  You can do so easily with the GOA's Legislative Action Center.  The GOA doesn't seem to have any boilerplate letters up for these bills but you can simply find your congressman and send him or her a letter urging their support for these measures.

Stop Jersey City's Discriminatory Gun Ban PDF Print E-mail

Jersey City Tells Poor and Middle Class: No Self-Defense for You!

Please immediately email, call, or fax the Mayor and City Council of Jersey City to voice your opposition to three anti-gun ordinances scheduled for a public hearing and council vote on Wednesday, June 14.   Please also attend the June 14 public hearing and make your voice heard!  You need to sign up immediately in order to speak (see details below).  Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah Healy initiated the ordinances, which make self-defense a luxury for the wealthy. But while he is busy stripping the self-defense rights of honest citizens, Mayor Healy will himself continue to enjoy the armed protection of his municipal police force 24 hours a day.  Two of the ordinances are tantamount to an outright gun ban and unfairly discriminate against poor and middle class Jersey City residents.  Jersey City residents would be uniquely singled out and stripped of self-defense rights enjoyed by all other New Jerseyans who live outside the city.
