Immigration by the Numbers II PDF Print E-mail
Written by Robert Rose
Thursday, 30 November 2006

The next time your ultra-liberal cubicle neighbor starts talking about "grim milestones" and how many Americans have been killed in Iraq, you should quote this statistic to him.  Illegal immigrants murder more Americans per year than soldiers have died in three years of fighting in Iraq.  To be exact, illegal immigrants are estimated to have murdered 21,900 Americans since 9/11.  That is more than seven times the number murdered on 9/11.

Not only that, illegal aliens driving will intoxicated kill another 4,745 Americans per year or 23,725 since 9/11.   Read the rest of the grim statistics here.

If you haven't watched this video yet, go take a look about what our levels of legal immigration are doing to our country.  Keep in mind while you watch the video that it ignores the level of illegal immigration.

2006 Firearms Law & Second Amendment Symposium Presentations PDF Print E-mail
Written by Robert Rose

The NRA is hosting video clips of a number of forums from the 2006 Firearms Law & Second Amendment Symposium held back in October.  The panels were made up of some of the biggest legal names in the Second Amendment community. (via Dave Kopel)

Amusingly, every invitee from the gun control side of the debate refused to attend, even with offers of all expenses paid.  Contrast this the anti-gun lobby publishing their own strictly one sided Second Amendment law reviews or holding their own law symposiums.  Pro-gun rights legal experts are not only not invited, but requests to participate are denied.  I ask you--who is fully confident in their position and who knows their position is intellectually weak?  Who invites debate and who fears it?

An Interesting Second Amendment Case PDF Print E-mail
Written by Robert Rose
Friday, 17 November 2006

Wayne Fincher of Arkansas has rebuilt a demilled Sten machine gun, fully informing the state of what he did.  As expected, he has been arrested and charged by the ATF.  His intent is to challenge US vs. Miller and the National Firearms Act of 1934.  JR has detailed coverage of the case.  This is certainly a case to track.  I have great admiration for someone like Fincher who willingly places himself in legal jeopardy in the name of liberty.  I hope he did this with some good, pro-bono representation lined up.

[UPDATE]  There is a blog tracking the Fincher case.  Currently, Fincher is still locked up.  The judge has approved bail but the restrictions are ridiculous:
