Newtown: A Different Perspective

E-mail Print PDF

The following was submitted via email to David Levinsky of the Burlington County Times in response to their request for responses to these questions:

First question-- do you think New Jersey's assault weapons ban has been effective in reducing gun violence in this state. If not, why not?

Question 2-- Obviously the entire country is upset about the recent school shooting, but do you feel it's good policy to pass a national assault weapons ban in response?

Question 3-- Are you or your organization concerned that the NRA will stop fighting to protect the Second Amendment as a result of the school shooting?

NJCSD Endorses Bach to NRA BOD

E-mail Print PDF

Once again, the NJCSD is pleased to endorse Scott Bach in his bid to be relected to the NRA Board Of Directors.  Though our two organizations have had differing views on 2nd Amendment issues in times past, Scott is someone who clearly "gets it".  He represents a sea change in thinking at NRA which we have felt was despeartely needed in the years prior to his arrival, and it's our hope that gun owners can continue to benefit from his energy and determination for years to come.  We are asking anyone who has voting rights at NRA to cast your ballot for him.

Theoretical question:
Would a perpetually corrupt, bumbling batch of murderous elitist jack-booted thugs running a bureaucracy like BATFE in charge of anti-rights so-called "gun control" be better for freedom than a highly efficient, well organized, infinitely resourceful J-Edgar-Hoover molded FBI-style federal agency? See the article below about the proposed closure of BATFE, with its duties assumed by the FBI.

Alan Korwin, a/k/a 'The Uninvited Ombudsman' is always entertaining.  We hope to share more of his musings whenever they're available.  Here's his most recent:

1- Ghadaffi Still Missing

The lamestream media told you:

Rebels liberated Tripoli, the Arab Spring is advancing, four decades of dictatorship over, Ghadaffi location unknown...

The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:

Aren't those AK-47s the Libyan rebels are waving all around? Where did they get those? Aren't those the guns the Mexican cartels use? Aren't those the guns the BATFE was smuggling into Mexico? Yes, yes, yes and yes.

How did the citizens, called rebels in the "news" media, instead of freedom fighters or some other less rebellious moniker, get so many AK-47s under one of the most brutal regimes known? Could Mexican cartels have the same suppliers? Shouldn't at least one reporter ask? And how come there are so few AR-15s floating around? Isn't it the better gun? Why do the former communist-bloc countries get all the business and American manufacturers don't?

In other news, some observers question whether "Arab Spring" is a proper name, instead of Arab Uprising, or Overthrow of Western-Supported Dictators, or Groundwork for a Global Caliphate. Some observers wondered who these constantly mentioned observers are. The "news" media could not be reached for comment. Who decided that Ghadaffi translated from Arabic has a silent "h" and two "f"s ?

2- Firearm Imports Droop

The lamestream media told you:

Nothing.
After all, it's only hundreds of millions of dollars in business.
This quarter.
